DIAMOND BROCADE BABY BLANKET

****PLEASE NOTE****

I did not create the Diamond Brocade design.  I found it in the book 400 Knitting Stitches by Potter Craft. This is just my interpretation of that design.

Needles: size 8 circular needles, 32"

Yarn: 2 skeins Impeccable worsted weight yarn in color A
1 skein Impeccable worsted weight yarn in color B.

Gauge: 16 st = 10cm (4 inches) in stockinette stitch.
(note: Gauge isn't "TERRIBLY" important in this project.)

With color A:  CO 99 stitches.

ROW 1: (RS) K1 . *P1, K7* TO to last 2 sts. P1, K1
ROW 2: K1,  P1, *K1, P5, K1, P1* to last st. K1
ROW 3: K1, *K2, P1, k3, p1, k1* to last 2 sts, K2
ROW 4: K1, P1, *P2, K1, P1, K1, P3* to last st, K1
ROW 5: K1, *K4, P1, K3* to last 2 sts, K2
ROW 6: K1, P1, *P2, K1, P1, K1, P3* to last st, K1
ROW 7: K1, *K2, P1, K3, P1, K1* to last 2 sts, K2
ROW 8: K1, P1, *K1, P5, K1, P1* to last st, K1

Work until approx. 28" in length. BO.

BORDER:

I did 2 rows of single crochet in Color B (because I like clean lines).  Be Creative!  Any edging will look cute here!

I used a low setting on an iron to steam block this (placing the blanket between two towels).  It really made this acrylic yarn SUPER SOFT.
